Online Quran Classes in Dubai and the UAE, One to One

Online Quran Classes

In the UAE, Islamic Education is not extracurricular. It is a compulsory, graded school subject for every Muslim student in every private school, from Grade 1 to Grade 12, whatever curriculum the school follows.

That changes what parents here actually need. Families in London look for religious education their child’s school does not provide. Families booking online Quran classes in Dubai are often looking for support with a subject their child is already graded on, and struggling with. This page covers both.

What makes online Quran classes in the UAE different

Under Ministry of Education rules, Islamic Education is mandatory for Muslim students across all private schools in the UAE, regardless of whether the school teaches a British, American, IB, Indian or French curriculum. Schools must use MoE-prescribed textbooks, and the requirement is regulated by KHDA in Dubai, ADEK in Abu Dhabi and SPEA in Sharjah.

The subject covers Quranic studies, Islamic jurisprudence and Islamic history, and it involves regular memorisation and continuous assessment. In other words, your child is graded on it.

Two consequences most parents feel directly:

The standards differ for non-Arab students. The MoE curriculum for non-Arab Muslim students is separate from the Arab Muslim curriculum, and schools are not permitted to combine the two groups in one class. Non-Arab Muslim students are taught in the language of the school’s curriculum, which for most expat families means English.

It competes with everything else. By IGCSE and A Level, students are carrying Islamic Education, Arabic, UAE Social Studies and Moral Education alongside the exams that determine university admission. The timetable squeeze at that age is real and it is specific to this country.

Where we fit, and where we do not

Stated precisely, because vagueness here would be misleading.

We do not teach the MoE Islamic Education syllabus. Private schools deliver that themselves, using prescribed textbooks, and it is regulated. Nobody outside the school system should be claiming to replace it.

We teach the underlying Quran skills that syllabus assesses. Reading fluency, correct pronunciation, and memorisation technique. A child who can read Arabic confidently and memorise efficiently finds the school subject substantially easier, because the difficulty is usually mechanical rather than conceptual.

That distinction matters. If your child is struggling with Islamic Education, the question worth asking is whether they are struggling with the content or with reading the Arabic it is written in. In our experience with expat families, it is usually the second.

Who our online Quran classes for kids in the UAE suit

Non-Arab expat families, which is most of them. Pakistani, Indian, Bangladeshi, Filipino, British and other expat Muslim families whose children speak English at school and Urdu, Hindi, Bengali or Tagalog at home, and who meet Arabic only as a school subject.

Families who moved mid-schooling. A child arriving in Year 4 from a country with no Islamic Education requirement enters a graded subject three years behind their classmates. That gap closes faster with one to one reading support than with more school hours.

Families heading back. Expat families who plan to return to the UK, Europe or elsewhere often want the Quran learning to continue uninterrupted after the move. Because lessons are online, relocating changes nothing about the teacher or the timetable.

Timings across the UAE

The UAE runs four hours ahead of UK winter time and three ahead in summer, and the school week is Monday to Friday across most of the country.

That means a 5pm Dubai lesson lands in the early UK afternoon, so evening slots for UAE families are genuinely available rather than squeezed into whatever is left after the UK evening rush. Weekend mornings on Saturday and Sunday also work well.

Families across Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Sharjah, Ajman, Ras Al Khaimah, Fujairah and Al Ain, including Dubai Marina, JVC, Mirdif, Al Barsha, Arabian Ranches, Khalifa City and Al Reem Island.

Because lessons are online, your emirate changes nothing about which teacher you get or what slots are available.

Common questions

Do you teach the school Islamic Education syllabus? No. Schools deliver that using Ministry-prescribed materials. We teach the Quran reading, pronunciation and memorisation skills the subject relies on.

My child is behind in Islamic Education after moving here. Can you help? Usually yes, and usually the underlying issue is Arabic reading rather than the subject content. A trial assessment will tell you which.

What time do lessons run? Afternoon, early evening and weekend mornings on UAE time.

Can lessons continue if we relocate? Yes. Same teacher, same timetable, wherever you move.

Are your online Quran classes in Dubai one to one? Always. For reading and pronunciation it is the single biggest accelerator available.

Are you an online Quran academy for kids only? No. Adult beginners are welcome and usually progress faster than children.
